• Government of Newfoundland & Labrador – Online Services — Provincial online services, including electrical permits and other property-related services.

• Newfoundland & Labrador Housing – Homeowner Programs — Home repair, energy-efficiency and homeowner assistance programs.

• Home Energy Savings Program — Energy-efficiency assistance for qualifying homeowners. Note that the existing program stopped accepting new applications June 15, 2026 while updated programs are being prepared for fall 2026. 

Energy Efficiency & Heating

• TakeCharge NL — Energy-saving advice, incentives and rebates for Newfoundland and Labrador homeowners.

• Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro – Energy Efficiency — Energy-efficiency programs plus information about heat-pump and insulation financing.

• Oil to Electric Incentive Program — Particularly useful for Eastern Newfoundland homeowners still heating with oil. The program currently says qualified homeowners may receive incentives of up to $22,000. 

Renovations, Permits & Property Improvements

• City of St. John's – Building Permits — Permits for renovations, decks, garages, sheds, additions, fences, pools, structural changes and other property improvements.

• St. John's – Building a House — Information about new-home construction, setbacks, grading, septic systems and required inspections.

• Portugal Cove–St. Philip's – Building & Development — Development information, permits, flood mapping and related property resources.

For your website, I'd also add direct links to the municipality where the property is located, since permit, zoning, development and property requirements vary between St. John's, Mount Pearl, Paradise, Torbay, Portugal Cove–St. Philip's, CBS and other Eastern Newfoundland communities.
